About the e.Gallery

[*] [Spacer]

In the belief that the appreciation of art enhances the quality of life, we have collected these images from Usenet and other public archives in order to make them available to a wider audience. We hope you enjoy your tour through the galleries here.

The site has been deliberately kept as monochromatic as possible: after all, it is the work of the artists that should stand out. Whiz-bang effects, bouncing clowns, and the like, are therefore left to the imagination of the viewer — should they even want them.

Because most of the images were gleaned from Usenet, appropriate descriptions of the images are few and far between. We hope to correct this, and are actively doing research, but it is an enormous project. If you do have information that can help us, please let us know.

If you enjoy using the e.Gallery, please consider helping support our efforts by checking out some of the services we offer, including an up-to-the-minute NewsWire, an on-line library, and other Internet services.

Lastly, we owe a debt of gratitude to all those anonymous folks that have created the scanned images presented here. While some scans were done by us, the majority have been gleaned from Usenet or other public sources. To those people – the scanners, and those providing the tools for transport and storage of the images – we give our deepest thanks.
