Artist:  Masaccio [Italian, active 1401?-?1428]
Year:  1426
Material:  Tempera on poplar
Dimensions:  21 cm 61 cm

Notes:  Behind the Magi are two emblematic figures, not taken from the traditional iconography, wearing fashionable headdress and long gray cloaks which leave uncovered their legs in red tights; probably they are representations of Masaccio's clients.
